Want to follow your favorite yaoi mangakas via Twitter?

NOTE: List updated as of April 4, 2018.

I’ve created a master list of Twitter accounts of Japanese yaoi mangakas I’ve followed over the years. Alternately, you can also click the BL Mangaka Twitter accts shortcut on the top of this webpage.

Some very important things to consider:

  • This list is only for Japanese yaoi mangakas only. I don’t read Korean manhwa, and so far the only Chinese manhua I’m currently reading is 19 Days by Old Xian.
  • Only official Twitter accounts are included. Some mangakas also have a separate account for their current/best-selling, ongoing work, if I can find it I’ll include them too.
  • Once you follow them, PLEASE, FOR THE LOVE OF YAOI, DO NOT POST SCREENSHOTS OF SCANLATED CONTENT AND TAG THE MANGAKA! It would be very insulting if you posted screenshots of scanlated content and tag the mangaka.
    • This already happened before. And even if a particular mangaka liked the post, it doesn’t mean that they are cool with it. It’s just them being too polite. Deep inside, they’re sad that their works are being distributed illegally. If you don’t want to be blocked and/or reported, don’t do it.
  • ALSO, TRY YOUR BEST NOT TO LEAVE LENGTHY ENGLISH COMMENTS, OR REPLY USING OTHER LANGUAGE ASIDE FROM JAPANESE.
    • I am so guilty of this sometimes. I’m fighting the urge not to get too excited.
    • Most mangakas aren’t well versed in English (I’m not insulting them, ok). It’s just a form of courtesy to avoid replying to their post using a language that they cannot understand. It also causes them inconvenience as they may feel pressured to reply–in English/another language–to your post. If it’s their birthday, a simple “Happy Birthday” will do. For other posts, a simple like or retweet will do. Or just use emojis or GIFs! Be creative!
    • If you want to reply in Japanese, keep in mind that online translation software currently available are not yet perfect and instead could cause misunderstanding on their part, so do this at your own risk. If it’s just a simple “thank you”, “congratulations”, etc, in English, then perhaps you could do it. Use your common sense and judgment.
  • Unless stated, I will not include bara (not my cup of tea) and shota (well, obviously) mangakas.

Yay, it matched!

Officially changing my domain name to match my blog. I am now thehopelessprocrastinator.wordpress.com.

Well, it’s just a simple update, but this is better. And I’m happy.

Blog re-evaluation

I decided to make a clean sweep of this blog for the first time, after being created years ago (I think it was 2011-12). My first “real” blog was located at i.ph. When they suddenly announced that they’ll be closing the site off to moochers like me, they gave us the option that we can still continue keeping the blog–for a price. For a student like me then, it’s not worth it, and my thoughts back then are as unorganized as ever. So I left begrudgingly.

I still remember transferring over WordPress after a short stint at Blogger (which I find the interface quite mundane–sorry Blogger), only to discover days after that I feel like I don’t belong there (girl’s intuition, I guess?) So, here I am at WordPress! So far I liked my stay here.

But looking over my first few posts (when this is NOT yet a blog solely for BL things), I saw a lot of cringe-worthy stuff. Never knew I could be that corny. Hahaha. So I decided to remove them, not just because it was corny (it really was) but because I want a clean slate. I wanted my blog to be more reflecting on what the About Me page tries to explain. I think it is my right to do what I wanted on this blog, and I am not denying nor betraying my old corny self on doing this. Just like a phoenix that rises from the ashes, I need to burn down all remaining vestiges of my corny self so I can rise again and serve the current purpose of this blog.

Having NO friends in real life that share the same interest as me, I think this blog is an apt outlet to express my fangirling and thoughts on my hobby, alongside Twitter and Tumblr. They really DO help me a lot in keeping myself sane and happy. Not that my real life is a mess, it’s just that it’s simply boring.

A lot of shitty things are cropping up at work, while financially things are getting tight. During this point in my life, what I’m really looking forward every single day aside from lots of sleep, drinking coffee (no matter how cheap it was), seeing my cats, rest days and paydays, is to read even just a single chapter of manga (whether BL or not) or immersing myself on a real book. They’re a total lifesaver.

After deleting the corny stuff all that remains from the past posts are reblogged stuff that interests me one way or the other. I guess there won’t be any harm in keeping them.

The name game

Still can’t find a decent, catchy name for this stupid excuse of a blog. My current blog name is sooo generic and so bland. Totally shows how “creative” I am *sarcasm*. But it reflects who I really am so I’m thinking of keeping it and adding something else so it wouldn’t look so boring and common.

Bah. Whatever. I’ll just keep this name for now.
